  • 1. Where do I get a claim number?

Your insurance company issues your claim number when you report your accident to them. Just write it down and bring it in with you. We will take it from there.

    2. If my vehicle's frame is damaged, is it a total loss?

No. A car is a total loss only when the repair cost exceeds the insurance company's determined value of your vehicle.

Currently, most car frames and bodies are built as one, which is called Unibody construction. FCC COLLISION CENTERS skilled auto repair technicians, with the aid of our state-of the-art computer measuring system, return your vehicle to its original factory specifications. If it’s determined that the frame section is bent beyond repair, that section will simply be replaced.

    3. What does “I-CAR CERTIFIED” mean and how does it benefit me?

All FCC COLLISION CENTERS auto body repair shops are I-CAR Certified Gold Class auto body repair shops, with I-CAR Platinum Certified Individual Technicians.

I-CAR is a not-for-profit, inter-industry organization. It’s focus is on training auto body repair technicians on the latest advances in automotive engineering, auto repair, the latest technology, safety advances, and automotive manufacturer standards.

Gold Class is the highest auto body repair industry certification in technology and training. Platinum is the highest certification an individual Technician can achieve and indicates thorough training in the latest advances in auto body repair technology and automotive manufacturer standards. To achieve Gold Status, a shop must have Platinum Certified Technicians in each area of repair.

For you the benefit is that I-CAR Certified Gold Class Businesses, like FCC COLLISION CENTERS, are rigorously trained and tested annually on how to repair your vehicle so it looks and drives as well as it did before the collision. More importantly, it will be safe for you and your family to drive.

    4. What does “VERIFACTS” mean and how does it benefit me?

All FCC COLLISION CENTERS are VeriFacts certified VQ shops. VeriFacts’ VQ Program provides consumers with independent, third-party verification of repair quality.

To accomplish this, VeriFacts Quality Verifier independently observes and documents that repair resources are in place and confirms adherence to OEM repair recommendations, I-CAR procedures, equipment usage guidelines, and industry best practices for each VQ shop on a consistent basis.

For you that means every possible resource is utilized to ensure a proper, safe repair; one where your vehicle is restored precisely to the manufacturer's specifications, with the methods the manufacturer requires.

    5. Can you match the paint color of my car?

Of course! Today's modern factory finishes incorporate multiple layers of highly specialized paints. FCC COLLISION CENTERS has made a major investment in the most advanced automotive paint system available. In addition, FCC COLLISION CENTERS constantly upgrades its technology and equipment to ensure that each vehicle's paint matches. We take special pride in our ability to match factory finishes as the final step in the restoration process.

    6. How long will the repairs to my vehicle take?

Your FCC COLLISION CENTERS advisor can give you an estimate of the time it will take to complete the repairs to your vehicle. Be sure to check with your FCC COLLISION CENTER advisor for the specifics on your vehicle and its repair.

    7. Can I get a ride home when I drop off my car?

Sure! FCC COLLISION CENTERS are more than happy to provide this service to you, anywhere locally or in town. We want your visit to be a positive experience and we’ll work diligently towards that goal. We provide both a pick-up and delivery service.

    8. How will I know when my car is done?

You will be notified when your vehicle is ready to be picked up. Feel free to call or e-mail your FCC COLLISION CENTERS advisor during the repair process if you have questions or concerns. In addition, you’re welcome to stop by our Online Customer Center to check on the status of your car while it is being repaired.

    9. Is there a warranty on the repairs to my vehicle?

Yes. FCC COLLISION CENTERS offers a written warranty on all repairs, as well as a LIFETIME WARRANTY on all paint jobs.

    10. Do I have to pay a deductible, and whom do I pay?

The amount of deductible that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy. If you carry broad collision, and you were not at fault, your insurance company most likely will waive your deductible. Insurance companies determine fault by your account of the accident when you make the claim, and by reviewing the accident report filed with the police department.

If you aren't sure about your deductible, you can call your agent and he can tell you whether your insurance company has waived your deductible or whether you will be responsible to pay the deductible when you pick up your vehicle.

If your deductible is not waived, it will be your responsibility to pay FCC COLLISION CENTERS when you pick up your vehicle.

    11. Can I wash my car after painting?

RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS:

    DO

    • Wash the vehicle by hand with cool water and a very mild car wash solution. (Using a soft cloth or sponge)

    • Always use clean fresh water.

    • Wash your vehicle in the shade.

    DON'T

    • Do not use a commercial car wash. Stiff brushes or sponges could mar the finish and damage the surface.

    • Do not "dry wipe" your vehicle. Dry wiping can scratch the finish.

    • Do not drive on gravel roads. Chipping the finish is easily done in the first 30-days.

    • Avoid parking under trees and utility lines which are likely to attract birds. Bird droppings have a high acid content and will damage a freshly painted surface. Also, tree sap can mar or spot a freshly painted surface.

    • Do not spill gasoline, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, or windshield solvent -on the new finish.

    • Do not scrape ice or snow from the newly painted surface.

Review: Our Odyssey was ready 2 days earlier than quoted. FCC has always done an incredible job on our vehicles. Unfortunately, we have needed them 5-6 times, and have always been extremely satisfied with their work. I would highly recommend FCC, and would not consider taking our Odyssey or BMW elsewhere...

Summary: Awesome work and excellent customer service!

Review: The guys over at FCC Collision Center in Milpitas are all very helpful, friendly, and professional. When I walked into the shop, I immediately felt comfortable as the shop was clean and inviting. Benny was the guy who oversaw the damage that was done to my car. Unfortunately, my car was hit while parked on the street in front of my home in the middle of the night (driver side quarter panel) so I didn't see nor did any of my neighbors seen who do it. I was very furious. Back to Benny, he was very friendly, thorough and honest with his estimations. My car was done and completed within the next 4 days. I must say that the body work they did was flawless - my car look brand new if not better! Color match of the paint was on point and my car never looked like it was damaged at all. In addition to that work, I also had them intall a spoiler, which they did great work on as well. I would definintely recommend this shop to anyone needing any body work for their vehicle. Their work is top notch and service is even better. Greg, the shop manager was also very accomodating and answered and addressed all my inquiries. He even paid for 1 day of my car rental! If that isn't awesome customer service, I don't know what is.

Review: They were one of the preferred vendors from Farmer's for the person who hit my car. They took a look at it, I dropped off the car, and got a rental car right next door. I was able to watch progress on their website throughout the week, they would take pictures and post them so I could see what was happening. I picked up car as scheduled, without hassle. The paperwork had all taken care of. 30 days later I called to get a final wax job over the new paint, and they took care of that at no charge. They even gave me shuttle ride over to my work.
